Note to Hospitals

More than 220 of California's 359 acute care hospitals have chosen to participate in the voluntary effort that creates the data displayed on this Web site. The goal of the California Hospital Assessment and Reporting Taskforce (CHART) is to have all eligible hospitals in the state participate by submitting performance data to be displayed on this Web site. Hospitals wishing to learn more about the CHART process can read about it at the California HealthCare Foundation site or the CHART participants Web site, run by the University of California, San Francisco.

Updating Hospital Performance Data

The data on CalHospitalCompare.org is scheduled to be updated quarterly. Depending on various technical issues and the reporting cycles for data at the participating hospitals, the data is expected to be updated in February, May, August, and November each year.

Submitting Data or Joining CHART

All data for the Web site is submitted through the UCSF CHART process. Please consult the CHART participants Web site, contact the CHART help line at 415.514.0218, or contact Edie Wade with any questions or to obtain information about joining CHART.

For more information on the data methodology, see About the Ratings.
